NACB Standards
The NACB Standard for Catering Butchers complements similar standards for the production, processing and distribution of meat and livestock. It ensures that all certified catering butchers operate to optimum levels of food safety and hygiene. NACB-certified catering butchers must have taken every step to ensure the legality, safety and quality of the meat and meat products that they supply to their customers.
Membership of the NACB Catering Butchers Scheme allows catering butchers to prove that the standards of food safety, hygiene and quality meet nationally agreed levels of best practice, and gives an assurance to the consumer that products they sell are safe and legal.
The NACB scheme is not set up for the elite, it is set up to attract all catering butchers who can attain the requirements of current legislation and codes of practice. NACB aims to avoid duplication and the imposition of unnecessary costs to deliver an assurance scheme that is cost-effective, credible and worthy of recognition by your customers.
